Hello! I am Dr. Shields

Why I Became A Therapist
It was my own experience in therapy as a young girl that inspired my professional journey of becoming a psychologist. I was a teenager when my mother passed away, and was fortunate to find an incredible psychologist to help me through my healing journey. I knew from this moment that I would become a psychologist and help provide healing for others. Later in life, I also noticed a pattern that people often came to me for support and shared their stories, which reinforced that being a therapist was a natural part of my identity. It is my belief that people are not trained to "become a therapist" in graduate school; rather, there are personalities that are innately therapists who pursue the profession. I am honored to be part of the healing journey for each of my clients. In addition to my stated specialties, I work with a wide range of presenting concerns and issues, and am happy to discuss your specific needs with you.
